Minister Visits Swansea East

Gareth Thomas Minister for both International Development and Consumer Affairs recently visited the constituency

Sian was recently delighted to welcome Gareth Thomas to Swansea East. Sian was proudly able escort Garath on a whistle stoptour of some key venues within the Constituency. With his dual responsibility for both Consumer Affairs and International Development, he had expressed an interest in visiting projects that reflected these areas of responsibility .

The first stop off on the tour was to the DVLA contact centre in Swansea Vale where Gareth was able to meet centre personel and Managers, he even had an opportunity to "listen in" to some live calls.
Next stop was the Liberty Stadium, where the Minister formally Launched the All Wales Scam Buster scheme. The City and County of Swansea Trading Standards unit were delighted to invite colleagues,from across Wales, to attend this very important event and they were all delighted to be able to discuss face to face with the Minister, issues that affect the day to day operations of Trading Standards. Gareth was treated to a tour of the changing rooms and was taken pitch side . He was very impressed with the facility and commented that the" Liberty Stadium was truly a venue to be proud of"
The last stop off was to Asda in Llansamlet , where the company organised a tour of the store and informal chat on their commitment to Fair Trade. They too welcomed an opportunity of a one to one discussion with a Government Minister.
Sian is extremely proud of Swansea East and never misses an opportunity to welcome Ministers to visit the Constituency.She was delighted to welcome Gareth to the constituency and will contiue to invite senior policians to visit.
