Sian James MP has made her views known on the 10p tax rate abolition

Sian James MP said:-

"Following the announcement of abolition of the 10p rate in the 2007 Budget, I wrote to the Government on 20th April 2007 to express my views about this change. I pointed out the negative impact on people on low incomes and I have been consistent on this issue ever since.

"I wrote once again to the Chancellor of the Exchequer prior to the 2008 budget to ask for reassurances that those on lower than average earnings will not lose out.

"I continue to make strenuous representations on this issue on behalf of my constituents."
