Sian James has today written to the Minister for Railways, Tom Harris MP, to lobby on behalf of Swansea Station so it receives investment.

Network Rail and train operators have started the process of planning for the National Station Improvement Programme.

Swansea station falls within the medium size category for the improvement programme.

Sian James MP said after writing to Tom Harris MP, Minister for Railways:-

"I want the Minister to be aware of how important the station is, as a key mainline terminus and the gateway to West Wales.

"I have asked for a number of assurances that money is made available to Network Rail to modernise the facilties and make it something Wales’s second city can be proud of."
