Support pours in for Sunbed Campaign - 20th Jun, 2007

Sian James MP said she has been impressed by the amount of support for her campaign on protecting young people from sunbeds
Sian James MP said:-"I have been galvanising further support for my campaign to protect young people from having access to sunbeds.
"My requests for support have received a very good response so far. The BMA Wales, Cancer Research UK, the Sunbed Association, Teenage Cancer Trust and other organisations have all written to me and expressed their support for the campaign.
"Former Hollyoaks star Andy Newton-Lee is also to meet with me shortly. Andy, who played Robbie Flynn in the Channel 4 series, was a frequent user of sunbeds until he was diagnosed with malignant melanoma on his legs in August 2005.
"I have asked him to come to Parliament and discuss how he can help spread the message and to raise awareness of the risks of sunbeds - especially among young people.
"The campaign is ongoing. I have also asked Teenage and Beauty Magazines, Celebrities, cosmetic and pharmacy retailers to back the campaign. I am not going to stop until the Government acts."
