Train Service Delays

Sian James MP has expressed her further concern over a limited service on the South Wales Main Line following over-running engineering works

Sian James MP said:

"The railway between Cardiff and Swansea will be partially re-opened on Friday 13 April with an apparent full opening on Saturday 14 April.

"I am worried that Swansea, as Wales' second city is suffering as a result of these delays and the inconvience being caused to First Great Western.

"I welcome the fact that services are running, but a further 60minutes detour around the Vale of Glamorgan line, will only seek to cause further delays. Ironically it would be quicker on the replacement bus service.

"I hope that this matter will be resolved as quickly as possible, and that services return to normal tomorrow as promised by Network Rail."
