MP makes statement on British Service Captives - 29th Mar, 2007

Sian James MP has made statement on the capture of British servicemen and women captives by Iran
Following media reports that two of the British servicemen captured by the Iran are potentially from South Wales, with one of these possibly from Swansea, Mrs James has made the following statement this evening:-"My sympathy and solidarity go out to the families at this time, including anyone who maybe from South Wales. The families' wishes must be respected at this difficult period and I am sure that everything is being done to support them.
"I am shocked and appalled that the captured servicemen and women have been displayed on Iranian Television, for the purposes of internal Iranian propaganda.
"All of us want this serious situation to be resolved as soon as possible through peaceful diplomatic means. I hope this will be soon."
