Voting on Trident - 15th Mar, 2007

Sian James has explained her reasoning why she voted against the renewal of Trident
Sian James MP said:"I have undertaken a consultation process within my constituency, and held two separate polls on my website – the overwhelming response has been that I should not support the renewal of Trident.
"In addition this this, I have received a number of letters, phone calls, emails and personal callers at the constituency office, who have asked me to vote against the proposal. This is what I did. Not one person who contacted my office asked me to vote for renewal.
"I have never hidden any of my anti-nuclear beliefs. As an ex-member of CND, and a Greenham Woman I have never felt comfortable with the issue and felt it necessary to make a stand."
