MP slams withdrawal of 40 South Wales Trains - 10th Mar, 2007

Sian James MP has attacked the decision by First Great Western to withdraw 40 services in order to provide extra services to the National Hunt Festival in Cheltenham.
Sian James MP said:-"This is another example of of where First Great Western appears to be placing higher priority on other parts of its network to the detriment of South Wales.
"It is difficult to understand why the company feels that it is acceptable to treat its passengers in South Wales in this way. This is another blow once again, I have been campaigning recently to prevent the cancellation of the 15:15 London Paddington - Swansea service and terminate the train at Cardiff, this decision, on top of the last, is frankly outrageous.
"Yet again First Great Western has treated its loyal customer base in South Wales with contempt and putting even more pressure on an already poorly performing service."
