Welsh MPs Visit Award Winning Pure Wafer - 5th Mar, 2007

Sian James MP and the Welsh Affairs Committee will today visit Pure Wafer as part of their enquiry into Globalisation.
The Welsh Affairs Committee is undertaking a visit to South Wales as part of their enquiry into Globalisation and its impact on Wales.Pure Wafer is a company based on the Swansea Enterprise Zone and now employs over 150 people on site. Last year, they were recently awarded the prize 'Welsh Company of the Year.' Mrs James has raised their work with the Government on previous occasions.

"As part ot the Welsh Affairs Committee's enquiry into Globalisation and its impact on Wales, I am pleased that the Committee is visiting Pure Wafer in Swansea East.
"It is an excellent example of a company that is investing in science to help the UK economy grow and for us to compete in an ever increasing global economy. It is the only company outside Japan with the technology and capability to recycle 300mm silicon wafers on a global scale.
"By visiting, the Committee will see and hear how Wales is continuing to be a world leader in the global economy."
