MP Expresses Shock & Disgust at DVLA Letter Bomb - 7th Feb, 2007

Sian James MP has said that she is shocked and disgusted at the letter bomb attack at the DVLA in the Swansea East constituency today.
Sian James MP said as soon as news of the incident came through:"What happened at the DVLA this morning is a shocking and cowardly act towards innocent employees. The DVLA is a large employer in Swansea and I know that people will be very worried about this incident."
Mrs James raised the incident with the Prime Minister at Prime Minister's Question time in the House of Commons.
Speaking straight after Prime Minister's Questions Mrs James MP said:
"I asked the Prime Minister join me in condemning the letter bomb attack that occurred in the DVLA and asked him to send his best wishes to the injured employee and colleagues.
"I want to ensure that such a contemptible act will receive the full attention of the police and all concerned"
The Prime Minister responded to her by saying:
"Can I express my sympathy to all those who have been caught up in those incidents in your constituency and elsewhere and say how sorry we are that they have been put through what is obviously a very traumatic time for them."
Mrs James also said that she would do everything to help those affected and would be working with the management of the DVLA and Union representatives.
